Building construction with hemp
Indeed the most common use of hemp; insulating wool is already strongly used in France. Our climate being more rigorous in Northern America, the technology of using hemp for insulation is not yet fully implemented, therefore not used here yet.
Hemp can also be used in the making of concrete. It can not be used for heavy structures to serve as support, but has the advantages of resisting expansion and retraction caused by climate changes.
Hemp can be used in factories to replace press wood (press board).
This consists of gluing hemp fibers together using strong pressure. This produces a board much more flexible and durable than wood.
